RAVPower Magnetic Wireless Charger Review
If your phone supports wireless charging, then not buying a wireless charger will make you miss out on convenience. Wireless chargers are great. You don’t need to plug it in. Just put your phone on the pad and that’s it. You are all set.
However, with the growing popularity of wireless chargers, it is easy to overwhelm yourself in deciding which one to choose. To ease the process, we have done our research and come up with the product that we think will suit most iPhone users. We will be reviewing the RAVPower Magnetic Wireless Charger. As of writing this review, the RAVPower wireless charger has over 1500+ ratings, out of which 84% are 5-stars. It is fully compatible with the MagSafe-e stand and is the best alternative for under $25. The actual price is $40 but frequently is sold at a discounted rate. In case if you are interested in power banks, consider reading our review on the ZMI PowerPack 20000. That too is a highly rated product on Amazon and should serve your portable power backup needs very well. This product can charge laptops, iPhones, iPads, and a variety of other electronic gadgets.
We love the design of the RAVPower wireless charger. To us, it looks even better than Apple’s charger. It is very compact and lightweight. You can literally put it in your pocket and forget it’s there. And doesn’t even protrude that much to be noticeable. The thickness measures in at just 0.2-inches, which is very slim. The full measurement is 2.44 x 0.24 x 2.44-inches. It weighs just 48 grams, which is seriously light. One thing we don’t like is that RAVPower doesn’t offer color variants. You can only get this product in black color. More options would have been really appreciated.
The base of this device is made of solid aluminum and the top part is coated with rubber oil, which makes it super soft to the touch. This also helps to prevent scratches from solid objects. RAVPower is a USB-C enabled product, and also supports USB-C to lightning connectivity. Out of the box, you will get the charger pad itself, 1 20W USB-C PD adapter, and the user manual.back to menu ↑
Just like Apple’s wireless charger, this one will also snap to the back of your iPhone. You don’t need to disconnect the pad from the phone to make phone calls. It will stay in place without issues. However, the magnet isn’t as strong as the MagSafe but is sufficient enough to not fall on its own. It also works with Apple’s wireless charging cases. We have noticed the alignment always stays right on point.back to menu ↑
Compatibility is great with most iPads and iPhones. It extends further to some Google Pixels phones, Samsung, Huawei, and a few other products. You can even use a Nintendo switch with this charger. For a full list of supported devices, visit their website. Although it doesn’t support all wireless devices out there but is a really great device if you won one that is in its service range. The good news is this unit will work with devices compatible with Qi charging, so it’s easily recommendable.back to menu ↑
As long as your device is supported, expect to have zero issues with charging. It will work as great as the MagSafe charger. In a real test, iPhone 12 can be charged to 25% in around 30 minutes, and over 50% in one hour. Apple’s MagSafe will be slightly faster, but we don’t think the added price justifies the small speed difference. Plus, Apple will make you pay extra for the 20W USB-C charger. It comes default with the RAVPower wireless charger.back to menu ↑
Heat dissipation is a major problem for wireless chargers. This is what halted Apple’s attempt to make a wireless charger at the initial try. Later they came with their smaller MagSafe. Luckily, due to smaller coil, and efficient construction, the RAVPower Magnetic Wireless Charger stays very neutral during use. Plus, the components are secured enough to avoid any kind of shocks. This will be helpful in case there’s a faulty part in your unit.back to menu ↑
Things to note
This product isn’t certified by Apple themselves. RAVPower can’t even provide the exact full power that you will get from the real apple wireless charger. But the differences are very minor and aren’t that visible in actual use. It is also designed to be compatible with the MagSafe-e stand by the manufacturer. The size and dimensions are pretty much the same.
When you charge using the real Apple wireless charger, it will indicate in the lock screen with a different UI. And when you use the RAVPower, it will act as if you are plugging in a normal cable charger. Other than that, the actual use is the same. It will charge as it should.
Like we’ve mentioned before, this charger is also compatible with Androids. However, we would recommend you get a charger that prioritizes Andriod more than iPhones, like this one. That way, you will get better results for your Android device.back to menu ↑

The RAVPower Magnetic Wireless Charger is a solid competitor to most alternatives out there. You can easily use it as a replacement for Apple’s MagSafe. It is cheaper and offers more features that are unthinkable at its price range. We have tested multiple wireless chargers, but none could match RAVPower’s compatibility, efficiency, weight, and price. For anyone new to buying a third-party charger for their iPhones this product will be a safer option to go with. All in all, we think it is a great little product with excellent longevity. We would recommend this product to most budget-conscious consumers.
