The charging process is different on various models of Ring Video doorbells. The ring has a variety of models for its video doorbells. The system for models such as 1st Generation and 2nd Generation is slightly dissimilar from the models such as 2, 3, 3 Plus, and 4.
In the 1st Generation and 2nd Generation, the battery remains fixed so that you can charge it without removing the battery. But in the 2, 3, 3 Plus, and 4 versions, the battery is removable and you can only charge it after removing the battery from the mount.
